Hear Ye ~ Hear Ye!
The annual reading of the Declaration of Independence will be held at the First Church of Templeton on Wednesday, July 4th at 12:00pm. There will be approximately 30 townspeople along with special guests, Senator Brewer, Representive Ann Gobi and Representative Denise Andrews participating and reading the Declaration. This has become a very moving event and stirs the patriotism we all have inside.
Following the reading, there will be an ice cream social on the Common. Bring your family and share in this wonderful time!
Did you know the following sentence from the Declaration of Independence is one of the best known sentences in the English language?
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
