Once again it’s Thankful Thursday and Tuesday Girl is grateful that our town was spared what others were not.
It is not often we have severe weather alerts on our televisions and to be truthful it made some of my family a tad nervous and for a bit of time when the wind, rain, thunder and lightening came right over our house~we were in our basement. To be honest I had been going outside with my Flip camera to see if I could catch the thunder and lightening. All of a sudden things changed and my mom called me to say they went to a friends house as they don’t have a basement and I decided that might be best for us also. Within 5 minutes or so it passed and then the beautiful sun came out and it almost seemed surreal until my phone started blowing up with all the Facebook and Twitter posts I was receiving about the devastation in Western Mass and we began watching the news. Today I will say many prayers for the ones that lost their lives and the families and friends they leave behind. Mother nature is fickle isn’t she and all across our country we have had some strange and severe weather. I will not take for granted just how powerful any weather can be and how quickly it can happen. I am going to hug my family and send up a thank you for all I have been blessed with and today I urge you to do the same.
I would love to start a drive and collect items such as blankets, toys, hygiene products, food, water and diapers to name a few. We can send them via the Red Cross and help the victims of Western Mass. Please let me know if you can donate any of these items for these people that have been displaced and have lost so much.
