What reading? How about all the yard work that needs to be done? Tuesday Girl thinks that reading is a great work also…
This past weekend was just beautiful and I was able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and warmth and it felt amazing! I did some clean up of my flower beds and the family cleaned up the yard and burned all the branches that came down this winter. There was so much to do in the yard, but my book was calling my name…So, of course, I took full advantage of the front porch, the back deck, the yard and any place that was sunny and I could get it a few minutes of reading! Reading brings you to new places and entices you to have wonderful adventures and it’s a great way to escape all the “stuff” we fill our days and minds with. Reading is my favorite past time and there is nothing like a great book!
Today as I was reading through all my Facebook News and I saw this book via “Nook” and thought it was perfect for TUESDAY and wanted to share it with you. (Click on the word Tuesday) I have a Nook now and I fought that for a couple of years. The kids and I have a house full of books on shelves, floors, baskets and anywhere there is room to fit them. I never thought I would give in to an eReader, but wanting to be environmentally conscious and also more practical about carrying around my books, the Nook won! I throw my Nook in my purse and take it with me everywhere ~ like to showings and when I pick up Zach from school~I always show up early to be sure I can take time to read!
If you have been sitting on the fence about an eReader, I encourage you to do your homework and pick the best one for you. There are several of them out there. I choose the Nook from Barnes and Noble as it is the place the kids and I go for some time together and it encourages reading for my children. Here are links to B&N for the Nook and Amazon for the Kindle and don’t forget that the smartphones have readers and also the tablets, like iPad and Xoom to name a couple.
There are so many other great reasons for owning an eReader and relaxing with a great book, your favorite drink and exploring a whole new world! Oh and isn’t Mother’s Day right around the corner ~ what a wonderful gift this would be!
