Tuesday Girl is so proud to present this small video production of The Living Wax Museum!

Bravo, Bravo!  These kids deserve a HUGE  round of applause and so many kudos for the wonderful job they did playing their characters.  The costumes with props, awesome speeches and  huge enthusiasm for 9 and 10 year olds just astounded me.  I personally would have been so nervous and most of them were not.  I am only sorry I could not make my way around the entire gym to photograph, listen to all the speeches and talk to more parents.  Thank you so much to all the parents and kids that allowed me to take these pictures and post them here for everyone to see.

I believe that pictures speak louder than words on most occasions, but in this case they don’t.  These pictures show the amazing costumes and work that went into being the character, however, the speeches that were memorized and the animation that went into playing their part ~ well, you had to be there to see it.   When you listened to them you could hear that person come to life!  They all had really taken time and practiced being in character along with their speeches AND they were from memory!   I was very impressed and being the history girl that I am, I was captured by all that I heard and learned from each one I listened to.

There were comedians, a great scientist, incredible sports legends and figures like Larry Bird, Lou Gehrig, Rajon Rondo, Mia Hamm and Katie King to name a few, a female aviation pioneer, astronauts, historical founders of organizations that still make a great impact today like Juliette Gordon Low, the maker of the Model T, musicians like Elvis and Darral Abbott, a few of our great first ladies, Pocahontas, a princess from England that captured the world, Helen Keller the first deaf and blind person to receive a degree,  the maker of our first American flag, a great detective, our President AND the Queen!  I really did get a kick out of how animated many of the kids were and George Washington was very in tune to his part and would not speak to me after his speech was done because he was made of wax!!  I enjoyed watching them speak and look you right in the eye with all that confidence and each one did not miss a beat.  I am also a people watcher and the expressions on the spectators faces were priceless.  This truly was a unique event and a good learning experience for me and for my Zach too.  He was Peyton Manning (and he likes him) and don’t think that didn’t have some issues in my New England Pats household!!

Congratulations to all of you for a job well done you should be so proud of yourselves.  Tuesday Girl is also giving a standing ovation to  Mrs. Waskiewicz for putting this program on as I am certain it’s a lot of work and she is so dedicated to her students and learning through fun; we all could not be prouder.  And hats off to all you parents that help your kids out with costumes and getting them there and helping with setup!  For your kids to be out there speaking in front of all those strangers and playing their roles is such a great accomplishment in public speaking.

Tuesday Girl thanks you again for sharing with me and letting me capture your character for the Living Wax Museum on film!

Thanks for posting this! It was a pretty awesome event and I’m glad to have been able to witness the children’s creativity first hand. You could see that everyone put in a great deal of effort into this exhibit and it was a remarkable accomplishment by these children.
