Can’t you smell that sweet apple cider?

  • Sharebar

Wow, it seems fall has perhaps arrived and honestly I am thrilled because this is Tuesdays Girl’s favorite time of the year!  I can smell that sweet apple cider coming from the Red Apple Farm.

Pumpkin Picking at the Red Apple Farm 2009

With this clean, crisp air and the leaves already falling off the trees I hear the Red Apple Farm  calling my name (and my family’s too!) because it has been a tradition to go pick apples and pumpkins, have some homemade chowdah in a bread bowl or maybe some roasted turkey or really anything off the outdoor BBQ ~ mmmm I know it’s making your mouth water now isn’t it!

Did you know….Red Apple Farm has been owned and tended by the Rose family for 4 generations~YES 4 Generations!  Located in scenic Phillipston, Massachusetts, they are just over an hour drive from Boston. Their location is unique at a high 1,250 feet above sea level. This means the orchards offer you some of the best naturally-colorful, extra-crisp apples in all of New England. They welcome individuals, families, school tours, social functions, and corporate gatherings to experience an old, scenic New England farmstead with plenty of things to see, taste, and experience!

They have hay rides, animals (bunnies, goats, donkeys, pigs…) to see and feed.  At the Farm Stand you can get apple crisp and ice cream with a dumpling or a cider donut. Inside they sell their baked goods and apple soda along with pepper relish, jams and jellies, maple syrup, T-Shirts and more!  AND do you know what else?  They are going green~with a wind turbine and solar panels and that is something to be seen!

Red Apple Farm  will give you a tour of the orchards and explain about the trees and the process of caring for the fruit trees too~ask someone about the Johnny Appleseed Tree or the Isaac Newton Tree!!

Tuesday Girl says, if you are looking for something fun, yummy and educational for you and your family, visit the Red Apple Farm  and enjoy a real New England Tradition!

Don’t forget to click on their name and visit their website for directions, hours of operation, events, ”what’s pickin”  and a bit of history and any other new information.

See you there!
